TRAINING AND INSTRUCTION

  • Angel's training philosophy is that the horse's physical well-being and mental peace of mind MUST take precedence over everything else. She emphasis the basics and tailors her training program to match each individual horse's requirements and rider's personal goals. She firmly believes each horse learns at a different pace and challenges them physically but only to the point of making them stronger and mentally to keep things fun and interesting. Her students must maintain a level of physical fitness to match the horse's.

  • Angel does take into consideration the rider's goals and designs a personal riding/training program to help the owner achieve those goals. It is the rider's option, of course, whether or not to compete, however, with Angel's extensive show experience she is more than capable of teaching a rider how to execute a correct and precise test.

  • Angel has organized the show Prep Camp for the Oklahoma Dressage Society for several years. This is a fun and educational weekend even which covers the basics of showing such as "Warm-up Ring Etiquette", "Braiding Basics", "The Proper Salute", "How to Fill out a Show Entry Form", "Correct Show Attire (for Rider and Horse)", How to Overcome Show Nerves" and other topics important for the show neophyte to learn.

  • She has also written articles for several publications. Be sure and go to the Education Section on this website for her monthly articles.
  • Angel's busy competition and clinic schedule only allows for a few select horses for training and students for teaching.
  • Please contact Angel to discuss an individualized training program for you and your horse.
